The Emmaüs movement, through these different activities to combat precariousness and the different audiences it supports, is an active witness to the rise in precariousness linked to mobility.

For a few years, Emmaüs structures have regularly alerted to the rise of this problem, marked in particular by an increasing number of employees in integration who cannot accept job offers for a reason related to mobility, and by an increase in the number of families. requesting a financial advance to pay an expense related to mobility

This is why Fondation PSA has chosen to support a social innovation program led by Emmaüs France, as part of a program that would:

  • Remove the barriers to the integration of people in precarious situations thanks to mobility in rural and peri-urban areas, with little or no access to public transport
  • Imagine innovative solutions to this problem, including stakeholders from the regions

After two years of study and consultation with local actors, Emmaüs France and Fondation PSA have chosen "Les Ateliers du Bocage" an integration and adapted enterprise that offers employment contracts to people far from employment as part of contractual arrangements.

For Fondation PSA, in line with the Emmaüs philosophy, it is a way to develop solutions which must be able to register over time and find their economic balance following the initial support of Fondation PSA.

In 2019, Emmaus France, with the help of Ellyx and Googwill Management, conducted a study on the social value of the project, "Shared Mobility".

This study shows the importance of this mobility solution for all actors in the territory: users businesses, territory and even society that benefit economically and environmentally.

In 2021, this mobility solution will be deployed to another entity of the Emmaüs Group in Pontivy at Emmaüs Action Ouest. This association has three insertion structures:

  • RETRITEX: collecting and valuing end-of-life textiles through sorting and re-using
  • RETRILOG: which carries out the transport and logistics of WEEE ( Waste Electrical and Electronics Equipment) and the managment of waste from tertiary sector
  • REEMPLOYMENT AND COMPANY, which is a recycler consisting of an insertion shop.
