As the first initiative of its kind in Portugal, the restaurant employs refugees from the Middle East and is part of a larger program run by the Pao-a-Pao Association, aimed at training women and young refugees and at creating long-term jobs.

The Mezze restaurant opened last October at the Arroios market in Lisbon and already employs 14 people. True popular success (the restaurant is always full!), it is a place of meeting and sharing, a link between Eastern and local cultures.
The place also hosts workshops of gastronomy, music, dance and debates.

The Citroën Berlingo, produced at the PSA plant in Mangualde, will contribute to the activity of the restaurant.
This is the eighth solidarity mobility project supported by the Foundation in Portugal since 2012.
