On October 11, the fifth French National Mobility Day took place at the headquarters of the Red Cross. The day began with the assessment of actions implemented within the framework of the Mobility Program of the Red Cross. This program has five main orientations:

1. Continue to implement new roaming devices in the territories,

2. Develop the animation of the territories and reinforce the approach of "going towards",

3. Develop relationships with local partners of inclusive mobility

4. Sustain the actions already undertaken and assess their impact

5. Develop new complementary mobility solutions

Volunteers of the Red Cross have illustrated these orientations by presenting their latest projects such as: the Mobile Health Home project in Deux Sèvres, the BB on Wheels project in Seine Saint-Denis and the support and Social Transport project in Meulan en Yvelines.

Since 2012, the PSA Foundation has been supporting this Mobility Program aimed to tackle isolation among society’s most vulnerable people. The PSA Foundation has funded more than half of the French Red Cross on Wheels and Social Transport vehicles.

PSA Foundation also supports the training program and animation of the French Red Cross volunteers and the development of the Red Cross on Wheels "Action Sheets" that collect best practices to develop actions at the local level.

Finally, the day ended with a debate on the impact of the Mobility Orientation Act Project, which draws a real regulatory framework for Social Transport activities. A working group on this topic is scheduled in January 2019.
